Homework! :)
Well, I think Aids is a really scary disease affecting more and more people nowadays. People contract it by having sex with multiple partners or anal sex. When people engage in sexual intercourse with these AIDS transmitters, they too might get AIDS. Similarly, when AIDS transmittors share injection needles with another party they will cause the other party to come down with AIDS as well. Another way to contract AIDS is through sharing of body fluids. (EXP:saliva or blood.) You see, there are many ways that one can contract AIDS. And if one is not careful they just might come down with it as well.
There is currently no cure for this deadly disease which has claimed many lives. People who contracted AIDS are usually left to waste away without a single hope of recovering.
It's really sad, but we can't do anything about it. In actual fact, no one dares to do anything about it. Everyone is afraid.
I seriously do not think Singaporeans have what it takes to become someone like Gao Yao Jie. She is really very passionate about saving AIDS patients. And has dedicated much of her life to this cause. Now, she is 80 and still trying ways and means to help AIDS/HIV victims. Even though she is aware of the danger she's in. As a retired woman, she can enjoy life using the money she has earned without any care or worries. But instead she chooses to use this sum of money to help strangers contracted with a strange disease that may be passed on to her.
Just look at us Singaporeans! When you tell someone that you're down with merely flu, they look at you, take a step back and tell you to stay away from them just incase they contract flu as well. This is a good example that most Singaporeans are afraid of death and will not volunteer themselves to help others (Even if they're paid to do it.). Of course, there are a passionate few who will try to help HIV patients all over the world. But, most of them just simply donate money to aid these people, afraid of getting too close to them.
That's the problem with us Singaporeans, we lack the personal touch. Instead, we just provide them with cold hard cash thinking that it can solve everything. I'm not saying that they aren't doing enough. In fact, I admire them, aware of the fact that I don't part with my money easily.
(I think I got carried away typing. :( If I went out of point pretend you didn't see it. :D)
Once again, GACKT-SAMA ROCKS! :3
THE END!
